GGF ASSOCIATION
The GhiroGoodFriends association is a non-profit organization, created by its founding members with the aim of protecting wildlife and plant life.
At the heart of its commitment is the GhiroPark project, a nature reserve designed to offer a secure refuge for the inhabitants of forests and wooded lands.
These spaces will be specially designed to:
- Protect endangered species, such as dormice, harvest mice, Eurasian pygmy shrews, and other species essential to the ecosystem.
- Preserve biodiversity, which is crucial for the balance of ecosystems.
With GhiroPark, the association is committed to creating a place where nature can thrive in harmony, while raising public awareness about the importance of conservation.
THE PURPOSE OF THE ASSOCIATION
The association aims to create, with the support of experts and groups dedicated to wildlife and plant conservation, an innovative nature reserve: GhiroPark.
This reserve will be dedicated to the protection and preservation of the inhabitants of forests and wooded lands, focusing on species that are often overlooked but essential to the ecosystem, such as dormice, harvest mice, Eurasian pygmy shrews, and other tree-dwelling rodents.
The project also aims to develop areas dedicated to education and awareness, allowing families, schools, and other organizations to discover wildlife and plant life. These areas will offer guided tours led by supporters of dormice and nature in general.
GhiroPark’s goal is to introduce the public to the dormouse, particularly its hibernation period, and highlight that logging and deforestation are the primary causes of its disappearance (especially when it is killed during its winter sleep).
The project is already underway, with a geographical and technical study of a site perfectly suited to the park’s operation.
The idea is to create a unique, modern, and eco-friendly park, using renewable energy sources such as solar panels, wind turbines, hydroelectric turbines, and other future technologies, in order to maintain a balance between humans and nature while respecting and protecting the species present.
