A DREAM, AN IDEA . . .
It was a dream, but not like any other…
A clear, almost tangible vision: that of a place where nature and man could finally live in harmony.
I dreamed of preserved forests, of discreet and unknown animals like dormice, finding their place in a respectful and peaceful world.
In my dream, there was a magical refuge, a haven where these small forest inhabitants were protected, loved, and understood.
But this dream went far beyond…
I saw families, children, schools, coming to discover this nature that is so rich yet so fragile. I saw a balance, a peace where everyone had their place.
Upon waking, this dream had lost none of its power. Quite the opposite, it had transformed into a clear idea, and then into a mission.
That’s how GhiroTeam was born, along with the association GhiroGoodFriends and its flagship project: GhiroPark.
I carried this dream with all my strength, but it quickly exceeded my personal aspirations. It became a collective project, supported by passionate people, experts, and all those who, like me, love and respect nature.
Today, this dream continues to come to life, step by step, thanks to everyone who believes in it and stands beside us.
If this dream has become a reality, it’s because we dared to believe that there is no great achievement without a dream to guide it.
And you, do you want to transform this dream and this idea into reality with us?
WHAT IS A DORMOUSE . . .
The dormouse (ghiro, its name in Italian) is the largest representative of the species Myoxus glis.
This animal measures about 30 cm in length, with 13 cm of that being its tail.
It has gray or brown fur on its back and a yellowish-white belly.
Its upper jaw contains a single pair of incisors, and it has a total of twenty teeth.
In the wild, the dormouse’s maximum lifespan is about six years.
Among its enemies are nocturnal birds of prey, weasels, and martens.
Very agile, the dormouse doesn’t move by jumping from branch to branch like a squirrel, but prefers to move discreetly through the trees.
The name Ghiro was inspired by its ability to enter winter lethargy, remaining in its den for nearly seven months during harsh winters.
It primarily lives in broadleaf forests but can also be found in coniferous forests.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF GHIROKU . . .
GhiroKu is not just a fashion brand. Created by the GhiroGoodFriends association, it embodies a unique vision where urban fashion is combined with a strong commitment to nature, ethics, and sustainability.
A Brand Driven by a Vision
Each piece of clothing signed by GhiroKu tells a story: one of an unbreakable bond between nature and urban creativity. This project is based on fundamental values:
- A passion for fashion: comfortable, aesthetic clothing inspired by the energy of the street and sports.
- Respect for the environment: through sustainable and responsible production choices.
- A societal commitment: by promoting ethical, fair, and solidarity-based practices.
A Commitment to Nature
At the heart of the GhiroKu initiative is the GhiroPark project, which aims to protect and reintroduce little-known but essential species for our biodiversity:
- Dormice,
- Harvest mice,
- Eurasian Pygmy Shrews.
These small mammals, though discreet, play a crucial role in ecosystems. However, deforestation and habitat loss threaten their survival. To address these challenges, GhiroPark is committed to:
- Restoring natural habitats suited to them,
- Raising public awareness of their ecological importance and the respect for wildlife.
GhiroKu thus illustrates the perfect balance between urban life and nature preservation, laying the foundation for a more harmonious future.
An Animal, a Symbol
The dormouse, with its ability to adapt to reduced habitats like orchards or vineyards, becomes a symbol of resilience and adaptation. Its presence in urban areas reminds us that nature always seeks its place, even in our transformed environments. Although iconic in certain parts of Europe, it remains underestimated and often overlooked.
Thanks to the GhiroGoodFriends association and the GhiroPark project, this charismatic little mammal, “Made in Switzerland,” will regain the recognition and protection it deserves.
An Ecological Commitment
GhiroKu products are made from 100% natural and recyclable materials, ensuring minimal environmental impact. This approach reflects our desire to support sustainable production and respect the planet’s resources.
An Ethical Commitment
At GhiroKu, we actively fight against:
- Child labor,
- Precarious work,
through 100% Swiss Made manufacturing, ensuring fair working conditions that respect human rights.
GhiroKu: A Community in Action
More than a brand, GhiroKu is an initiative led by passionate individuals and an engaged community. Together, we are building a world where fashion, nature, and ethics coexist harmoniously.
